Interactive Data Visualization & Chart Types
The Graphic Viewer is Aabel's interface for data visualization and charting, and can simultaneously work with data from multiple data sources.
- Data visualization and charting in Aabel is dynamic, i.e., there is a real time, two-way interaction between the graphic viewer and the data sources used by the viewer.
- Saved graphic viewer files are not static graphic files. They are dynamically linked to the data sources used to create the chart(s).
- The graphic viewer provides many practical features such as:
- A dynamic palette with data browsers and controls that allow selecting or changing plot variables and other plot options. This allows you to visualize your data interactively
- An easy to use chart selection menu that allows you to quickly scan through the data using different chart types
- A sublayers palette for managing graphics (e.g., changing transparency, locking/unlocking, showing/hiding, changing the z-order of graphics, creating chart overlays, etc.)
- A chart gallery containing an overview of Aabel charts and their requirements
- The ability to custom-define color themes and save them globally to be used by any viewer at any time
- Pages, each of which can hold one or multiple charts and other graphics, and all of which can be exported as a single PDF document
- Text and table editors with Unicode support, a color gradient editor, and more
Overview of Aabel Charts
Aabel provides a large number of diverse charts, including general-purpose charts, special-purpose charts, thematic maps, and statistical charts:
- General-purpose charts include a wide variety of 2-D and 3-D graphs
- Special-purpose charts are desinged for specialized purposes, or provide rather unique attributes
- Statistical charts are graphical outputs from a diverse range of statistical methods
- Thematic maps include polygon, polyline, and polygon point frequency diagrams
Thematic Maps
Aabel provides powerful importers for importing polygon data, and allows creating thematic map diagrams that can display spatial
data interactively using different options and easy to use customizing tools. View examples.
Aabel provides:
- Polygon thematic maps
- Polygon point frequency diagram
- Polyline thematic maps
