X-Y, Double X/Y, and Double X-Y Scatter Series Charts

Scatter series charts display scatter data points from one or more data series, plotted against a value axis, a category axis, or date & time.

X-Y Scatter Series Charts

    The chart types include:

  • X-Y horizontal scatter series - the chart displays Y values of one or more data series across the sorted values of the X-axis
  • X-Y vertical scatter series - the chart displays X values of one or more data series across the sorted values of the Y-axis
  • Scatter series across X categories - the chart displays Y values of one or more data series across the X-axis categories (see the image below)
  • Scatter series across Y categories - the chart displays X values of one or more data series across the Y-axis categories

    • The right hand-side image is an example of scatter series across X categories.

Double Y, Double X, and Double X-Y Scatter Series Charts

    The chart types include:

  • Double Y scatter series - the chart displays Y1 and Y2 values of one or more data series across the sorted values of the X-axis
  • Double X scatter series - the chart displays X1 and X2 values of one or more data series across the sorted values of the Y-axis
  • Double X, double Y horizontal scatter series - the chart combines two X-Y horizontal scatter series plots in one plot (X1-Y1 & X2-Y2), one displaying Y1 values of one or more data series across the sorted values of X1; the other displaying Y2 values of one or more data series across the sorted values of X2
  • Double X, double Y vertical scatter series - the chart combines two X-Y horizontal scatter series plots in one plot (X1-Y1 & X2-Y2), one displaying X1 values of one or more data series across the sorted values of Y1; the other displaying X2 values of one or more data series across the sorted values of Y2
