Customizing Chart Legends and Legend Entries
Customizing Chart Legend Entries
Chart Legend entries differentiate data groups or data series by means of two elements, the legend keys, and the corresponding text item (explanation).
Diverse controls are provided in the legend entries editor of different chart categories for flexible control over markers, line or fill attributes, regression lines, confidence belt, etc. The control dialogs provide optional preview control to view the changes in real-time.
Below, is a screenshot from the UI controls used for graphs in which data are represented by marker attributes, and to which you can apply regression (curve fitting).

Customizing a Legend Font, Frame, or Background Color
- The legend font size and style can be changed using the Text menu or shortcuts.
- Chart legends have a transparent background by default. You can optionally add a colored background to any legend type.

Customizing Color Scale Legends Representing Data Ranges
Color scale legends are used in 2-D contours, 3-D & 4-D contours, ternary contours, 4-D scatter, and bubble charts using color scale.
- The editor for this legend type allows adding frame to the legend, changing font attributes of the legend title, defining the legend labels font, and display format attributes, binning the color range, etc.
