Area and Stacked Area Charts
Area charts can be created from a single variable or from multiple variables (i.e., stacked area).
Single area graphs display the trend of values of a variable over categories or time.
Stacked area graphs display the trend of contribution of values of two or more variables to the total over categories or time.
If Y is the value-axis, X will be the category-axis and vice versa.

Error bars can be added to area and stacked area charts, and the feature provides several options. ![]() |

When using the 100% stacked area plot option, the values of the selected variables will be normalized and scaled to 100%. ![]() |
The error bar options include:
- Standard error
- Standard deviation(s)
- A user defined fixed value
- Any variable value (e.g., numeric values of experimental data, user calculated errors)
